Niagara Falls Walking Tours FAQ

Where do your tours start?
Niagara Falls Walking Tours depart from the corner of Old Falls Street and Prospect Street in Niagara Falls, NY. We’re one block South of the Hard Rock Café, near the pedestrian entrance to the Niagara Falls State Park.  Private Tours and Extreme Adventure Tours begin wherever you want as we pick you up at your convenience.

How long does the tour last?
Private tours are about 4 hours in length, Extreme Adventure Tours are about 6 hours in length.  Sometimes there are lines at the Cave of the Winds or at the Maid of the Mist that we cannot control. If an attraction is closed by the park (sometimes the elevators malfunction at the Cave of the Winds) we will refund that portion of your ticket price. It’s beyond our control, but hey you shouldn’t have to pay for it.
Sunday’s Fireworks Tour is 90 minutes long. It starts at 8:30 PM and ends with the Fireworks display over the Falls at 10:00 PM.

How far will we walk?
On Fireworks Tours we walk less than 1.5 miles. Terrain is generally flat with a few sloping inclines. Route is OK for people using wheelchairs.

How is this Niagara Falls tour different?
I’m glad you asked. Niagara Falls Walking Tours are entertaining. Our Niagara Falls tours ARE the attraction. There are many fine 4 hour bus tours that include attractions and a bus ride. Those tours are virtually identical to each other. We are creative and humorous. We do not take our clients to souvenir shops where we secretly receive a kick-back commission on everything you purchase. Other tours focus on facts and describe what you’re looking at. We focus on stories and broader themes that allow you to put Niagara in a context. We believe we’ve crafted the best Niagara Falls tour.

What about costs?
For those on a budget, you’ll not find a more cost effective tour than our Fireworks tour-it’s just $15 and provides loads of entertainment.  Our private tours are likely the most expensive in the region.  However, we are the only operation to customize your tour.  Plus the tour is private, meaning I focus on you and your needs.  On other tours you are one of 24 people on a bus.  I give you the personal attention you deserve.  Another factor is that most other tours do not include a meal.  The biggest factor on a tour is the tour guide.  I believe I provide an exceptional tour, and I invite you to read my trip advisor reviews for an unbiased opinion of my service.

What if it is raining on the day of the tour?
Man-up Nancy! We go rain or shine. If you’d like to reschedule your Niagara Falls Tour to avoid the rain, just call or e-mail us. But we will judge you.

Is this Niagara Falls attraction for everybody?
We think so. But if you don’t have a sense of humor, this is not the tour for you. We pepper our historical narration with jokes, physical stunts, street magic, bad harmonica playing and even worse singing. Due to some weak-kneed complainers, we’ve had to cut out the human sacrifice that used to be our ‘big closer’ on the tour. This is a public tour which means that we must be respectful of the needs of the group. If we agree to meet somewhere at a particular time, then do so. We don’t ruin the experience of the group because a few people are self absorbed weenies. You may be left behind. If you are delayed, call your guide.

Are there bathrooms available during your Niagara Falls tour?
Yes. We’re in a park, there are bathrooms behind every tree. Several real washrooms are available as well.

Can we bring our dog on the tour?
Yes. Teenagers are welcome too.

Is there an exhaustive list of things we’re likely to see or discuss on this tour?
Yes-the American Falls, the Bridal Veil falls, Niagara Falls Discovery Pass, black squirrels, Niagara Falls history, Niagara Falls attractions, Niagara Falls USA, Niagara Falls Canada, which side of the Falls is better, history of Niagara, Maid of the Mist, Maid of the mist legend, suicides at Niagara Falls, rescues at Niagara Falls, Nikola Tesla, Niagara Falls Tours, cheap things to do in Niagara Falls, Dare devils of Niagara Falls, going over Niagara Falls in a barrel, Niagara Falls park, and why women are psychic.
